European Cup

I think the German name is; Europapokal? Does that make sense?

The European Cup is a two day event in Manchester on the 1st and 2nd of November. The grand prize is a flight bursary to go to Washington DC and a place in the first Vintage Championships.

The tournament structure is over 2 days:

Day 1) Standard - last 3 sets + All Stars
Day 2) Limited - Pre-release of Demonweb

The overall best placed winner will walk away with the prize :D  There will be more prizes, including a trophy (a statue of one of the DnD Miniatures) and, of course, boosters and more :)

Apart from the major tournament, Game08 will host:

Classic DDM tournament - use the old rules and minis
The Delve - 30 mins of RPG/DDM madness - great fun
Beginners Tournaments - 8 player tournaments for beginners
EU Community Draft - if there is someone who wants to organise it - 2 boosters of any set with 2.0 stats
Drafting - get 2 boosters and draft in 4 person pods. Great fun way to build warbands on the fly.

If you want to try your hand at other miniatures games, this is the latest list of games going on:

Hordes
Warmachines
Confrontation
AT43
Bloodbowl
Heroclix
Haloclix
Horroclix
Mechwarrior
Secrets of the Third Reich (completely new game)
Battletech
Flames of War
Fields of Glory
Star Wars
Axis and Allies
Dreamblade

You can book on at www.gamecon.co.uk

Ich hoffe, dass Sie kommen und spielen können  :D   :D

I think the German name is; Europäische Herausforderungs-Schale? Does that make sense?

My pick woud be "Europäische Meisterschaft" or simply "Europapokal" (if used to describe trophies or the related championship, we use "Pokal", the German term for "chalice", though "cup" itself can be used in German as well).
history ['hıstəri], n: an account mostly false of events mostly unimportant, brought about by rulers mostly knaves and soldiers mostly fools. -- Ambrose Bierce

It's tempting...

Do I spend early november in England and ask what the "Three Lions" did in the sommer
or do I spend early november in Italy and ask how the "Squadra Azzura" felt in there first game...

I think the Italian Nationals won't be in Lucca this year - not enough interest. I believe it will be in Turin - if my wife allows me... I will try and go and defend my lucky title. I'm not sure of that date - I think late November, but I am not sure. Cesare and a few others are now planning the trip to the UK  I am planning mine down there.  :cheesy:

Hope you can make it to the UK in 5 weeks.
