Hm, da weiss man gar nicht, ob man sich für die drei Silbermedaillen für Mouseguard freuen oder ob man sich drüber ärgern soll, dass es nicht mehr geworden ist.. Ansonsten freuts mich, das Wolfgang Baurs Open Design-Produkte so gut abgeschnitten haben, der hat es echt verdient. Viermal Gold und einmal Silber für Paizo ist natürlich auch nicht schlecht.

Alles in allem also kann man ganz zufrieden sein.

Ich denke sowohl Paizo als auch Wizards haben ihre Auszeichnungen verdient. White Wolf hat diesmal ja recht schlecht abgeschnitten, allerdings kam in meinen Augen auch Hunter in keinster Weise an Changeling heran.

Dark Heresy schlägt Mouseguard in zwei Kategorien und belegt bei "Best Game" den zweiten Platz, während Mouseguard keinen weiteren Platz mehr hat aber trotzdem wird das Teil bei "Product of the Year" zweiter? Ich kann die ganze Sache wirklich nicht ernst nehmen, wenn das jeglicher Logik widerspricht.

Naja, was erwartet ihr bei einer Abstimmung? Schaut euch einfach mal das Procedere an. Ich habe meine Stimmen z.B. nie voll ausgenutzt, da ich nur Sachen Punkte gegeben habe (oder auch nicht), die ich auch kenne. Andere wiederum nutzen ihr Stimmrecht vielleicht voll aus und wiedere andere taktieren vielleicht sogar ein bissl. Kann also sein, dass Mouseguard wegen der innovativen Idee in der Kategorie einiges an Sympathiepunkten eingefahren hat. Finde ich auch gar nicht schlimm, hier gehts ja nicht um den Nobelpreis.

The Edition Wars Are Over!

From where I sit, it's August 13, the official release date of the Pathfinder RPG. And as a co-owner of Paizo Publishing and someone with a significant role in what some refer to as "the edition wars," I have an announcement to make:

The Edition Wars are over, and we have all won.

You like 4th Edition? Great--Wizards of the Coast has some fun stuff coming out for you, and there are quite a few third parties expanding the scope of the 4E world too.

You like 3.5, but want to see it evolve? We've got you covered with the Pathfinder RPG, and more companies are coming on board to support that all the time.

You like 3rd Edition and want to keep playing it as it is? Congratulations--you can. And since the Pathfinder RPG was designed with compatibility in mind, you'll be seeing a lot of new stuff coming out that you can easily use with your game.

 You like more than one of the above, or perhaps something completely different? That's fine, too.

So let's put an end to the talk about why the games you're not playing are lacking, and keep the focus on why the games you are playing are keeping your attention.

Du missverstehst mich wieder einmal. ich sage nicht, dass die 4E schlecht ist. Ich sage nur, dass wir in der Vergangenheit weitaus bessere Produkte gesehen haben. Also muss es (mMn) ein lausiges Jahr gewesen sein. Wenn das PF Campaign Setting das POTY gewesen wäre, wäre es auch ein lausiges Jahr.

Letztes Jahr standen ja auch eine Reihe guter Produkte von White Wolf zur Wahl. Was gab es diesmal? Hunter the Vigil.

Vermutlich muss es auch schlechte Jahre geben, damit man die Guten richtig schätzen lernt. Mein Product of the Year war die D&D Basis Box von ´83.
