Water Mastery (Ex)

A water elemental gains a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls if both it and its opponent are touching water. If the opponent or the elemental is touching the ground, the elemental takes a –4 penalty on attack and damage rolls. These modifiers apply to bull rush and overrun maneuvers, whether the elemental is initiating or resisting these kinds of attacks.

ja, es sei denn man ist der Meinung das "ground" Erdboden meint

Das bin ich z.B.

Erdboden -4 / -4
Wasser +1 / +1
alles andere (z.B. Schiffe, in der Luft etc): Normal

Alles andere würde das Elementar doch sehr abwerten? Immerhin ist Erde das Gegenstück zu Wasser. Daher dachte ich es bezieht sich darauf. Da es nun aber bei meiner Online Runde genau an den -4 liegt ob ich einen SC erstmal ohnmächtig prügele oder nicht würde ich das gern klären.

Ich finde dies aktuelle Antwort auf dem Paizoboard dazu sehr sinnig:

Air, earth, and water elementals all get a mastery. Water is in water, and not touching ground. Earth is while touching ground and not airborne/water. I would agree that a ship counts as neither ground or water, and so no bonus/penalty would apply.
