Vendui!
Wo wir gerade bei Vorurteilen waren, die Finnen und die Schweden haben eine traditionelle Abneigung entwickelt. Daraus entstehen dann solche Witze wie ...
A Finn and a Swede were arguing about whose language sounds more beautiful. Since they couldn't come to an agreement, they asked for an
Englishman to settle the dispute.
After thinking about it for a while, the Englishman decided to read a
poem, which the Finn and the Swede would then translate to their own
language. Thus the Englishman could decide which language sounds more beautiful.
The Englishman's poem was,
"Island, island, grassy island, grassy island's bride"
Which the Finn translated,
"Saari, saari, heinäsaari, heinäsaaren morsian"
Then it was the Swede's turn,
"Ö, ö, hö-ö, hö-ös mö"
